to the Venice of East - Alappuzha. Alappuzha
is celebrating the world renowned water spectacle,
the 53rd Nehru Trophy Boat
Race on the 13th August 2005 in the
Punnamada Lake, Alappuzha. This is a
unique annual event of its kind, which provides immense
thrill and excitement for tens of thousands of enthusiasts.
This water carnival is a rare blend of man power, grit,
discipline and defiant spirit with both players and spectators
forgetting themselves in their exuberant enthusiasm. It
is like Heaven falling on your palms for some time.

year's special attraction - SkyDiving Display at Alleppey
by Air Devils |

"AIR DEVILS" is the best known parachuting
sport team of our country. The "Air Devils"
of Indian Air Force will be performing over the
backwaters of Kerala in Alappuzha in connection
with the 53rd Nehru Trophy Boat Race. Skydivers
will jump from an Air Force MI-8 Helicopter at 6000
ft above ground level, fall free, open the parachutes
at a pre-designed height, fly over the backwaters
and land on water. This would be the first ever
sky Diving demonstration with water landing.
"Air Devils" from its inception in 1989
has come a long way in terms of its capabilities
and professionalism. Team is led by Wg Cdr Jayshankar,
who is a Keralite. "Air Devils" has enthralled
crowds all over the country besides having the rare
distinction of having jumped in almost all the IAF
bases in the country.
This display is dedicated to motivate the youth
of Kerala and to create adventure awareness in the
state.

the Logo
Every year logo of the Nehru Trophy Boat Race
is selected from entries received from the
public by a committee. A competition is held
for this and winner is given a cash prize
of Rs. 1500/ and a free pass for the boat
race. This year's logo is that of state bird
VEZHAMBAL.
